In the early hours of 8th August 1963 a gang of men held up the Glasgow to London mail-train in a remote part of Buckinghamshire. They stole ú2.6M in bank notes. The police found the gangÆs hide-out on an isolated farm and discovered incriminating evidence. The gang, including Bruce Reynolds, Ronnie Biggs and Buster Edwards were captured and each sentenced to thirty years in prison.
